Biography

Tim Attride
Being born the son of an organist and Choirmaster, it was almost a given that I would follow suit eventually.  Having studied the piano in my early years, I moved onto the organ and to a post at the local Church.  From there, to the Parish Church and robed SATB choir and an increase in the expected musical input.  I had been interested in writing for a while, but this move particularly spurred me on.  Now, with over 80 compositions (plus 50 descants), I feel it is right to put these works out to a wider audience.
Already, many  pieces (both choral and organ) have been used in local churches and cathedrals, as well as in Canada, the USA and Africa - and the Isle of Wight!
With a smaller church choir now, my main focus has been on 3-part writing, although the occasional six-, seven- and even eight-part piece has still found form.
As you will see in the gallery, I also enjoy bellringing and over the last 25 years or so have rung over 700 Quarter-Peals and helped in a ringing campaign which ended up raising over £7m for Cancer treatment.  Other interests include Stained Glass and reading.
